Tax documents are the most sensitive files most people own. These are the commitments the product is built around — each one is enforced in the architecture, not just promised here.
We never ask for your Portal das Finanças password
Not at signup, not for pre-filling, not ever. No feature logs into the tax portal for you, and none ever will. You (or your accountant) always file the declaration yourself, after running the portal's own Validar and Simular checks. If anyone helping with Portuguese taxes asks for your portal password, treat it as a red flag.
Your data stays in the EU
The database and document storage run on infrastructure hosted in Europe (Ireland). GDPR applies in full: you can export everything and delete everything.
Documents live in a private vault, isolated per user
Uploads go to a private bucket where access is enforced at the storage layer: every file path is bound to your account and row-level security means no other user can list, read, or delete your files. Downloads use short-lived signed links (5 minutes). Deleting a document permanently removes the file.
Nothing is guessed, and nothing leaves without your say-so
Every number in your preparation traces to a document or an answer you provided — missing data becomes a checklist item, never an invented value. Consents are unbundled and revocable: document processing, year-over-year retention, sharing with an accountant, and marketing are each a separate, explicit choice.
Your data is yours to remove
You can delete individual documents or your whole account. Deletion is real: storage objects are hard-deleted and database rows removed, not soft-hidden.
Preparation support, not tax advice
We help you prepare and understand your declaration. Elections and edge cases that genuinely need professional judgment are flagged for a contabilista certificado instead of being papered over — including anywhere published guidance is unsettled.
